The Knight, The Devil and Death print

$30.00

This turned out to be an important piece for me. One of my big artistic heroes is Albrecht Durër. You’d recognize his work, even if you don’t know the name. One of his most reproduced images is an engraving titled The Knight, Death and The Devil. It depicts a knight on his horse, steadfast on his course not being distracted by Death at his side or The Devil following close behind. My version depicts a Knight who has been tempted by the Devil and now thinks only of the treasures he offers. He has given in to greed and thusly his soul dies, claimed by Death’s pitchfork. The dead birds at their feet represent all that dies in you when you walk in step with such corruption.

This print is the same dimension as The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and The Temptation/Torment of St. Anthony prints. It measures 11” by 13”.
